Click on images for larger view What is a cartouche and how can an artist use an age old motif and bring it into the his or her own 21st century? Using an ellipse as a template, students will compose their own cartouche on Roclon canvas using sketches of the lovely flora and fauna of the Big Oaks Arts grounds, Jennifer's samples, and a review of the historical styles developed in the use of this enchanting form.
